People in Need Wordwide project 2012 – Snoezelen in Bacau, Romania.

Our project for this year is to equip another school for children with special needs in the city of Bacau with a Snoezelen.

These children in Romania have been deprived of all sensory stimulation, even people talking and touching them. The aid workers are using all the resources they have to reach these “locked in” children. Our aim is to provide them with specialist multi-sensory activities that will help stimulate them.

The blend of sights, sounds, textures, aromas, and motion provide stimulation of the primary sensory systems and may be modified to meet each child’s sensory needs.
